Allen Brodnick, P.T., Cert. M.D.T.
Al is the owner and director of Bethesda Physical Therapy. He received his physical therapy degree from the University of Maryland (at Baltimore) in 1984. Over the last 20-plus years, he has worked in a variety of settings, including as director of a chronic pain/work hardening center and an orthopedics and sports medicine facility. In 2003, he became certified as a McKenzie-trained therapist, earning his diploma in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy.
In 1990, Al opened his first successful practice in Bethesda and, after six years, joined a national physical therapy corporation where he continued to practice and direct his original Bethesda clinic. Over the course of 10 years, he rose to the position of Group Director and eventually was responsible for eight other area clinics. Al left the corporate setting in late 2004 as he wanted to re-establish an independent, patient-centered practice.
Tarik Chase, M.S.P.T., C.O.M.T.
Tarik graduated from Florida A & M University in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. He then went on to complete his Masters degree in physical therapy at Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia in 2003. Tarik has a special interest in manual therapy and orthopedics, and has had the opportunity to continue his growth in this area by taking several continuing education classes and seminars. He lives with his family in Washington, D.C.
Marcie Schwartz, M.P.T., C.O.M.T.
Marcie graduated from Ohio University in 1997 with a B.S. in Biology. She earned a Master's Degree in Physical Therapy from Andrews University in Dayton, Ohio. In 2008, she succeeded in earning her Orthopedic Manual Certification (COMT) from Maitland-Australian Physiotherapy Approach. Marcie enjoys running and outdoor activities, and, most of all, spending time with her family.
D. Quentin Paquette, M.P.T
Quentin received his Master's Degree in Physical Therapy in 1994 from Hahnemann University. He worked in the hospital setting, developing general knowledge and focusing on physical therapy for patients with neurological disorders for four years and concurrently served as an educator in the clinic and classroom. Quentin has been the director of outpatient clinics since 1999. His philosophy is to balance the seriousness in pursuing each patient’s therapy needs with lightheartedness and a sense of humor. Outside the clinic, Quentin can be found cycling, playing soccer, or in the woodshop.
Vanessa Lopsonzski, M.P.T.
Vanessa received a B.A. in Kinesiology from the University of Colorado, and a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from California State University. Shortly after her undergraduate program, Vanessa attained her certification in Pilates for Rehabilitation through Polestar Education. Vanessa has practiced in the Washington, DC metro area since 2006, specializing in Pilates Rehabilitation with an emphasis on spinal pathologies. Vanessa is also an Educator for Polestar Education, and she is currently attaining her certification in Manual Therapy through St. Augustine University. In her spare time she enjoys being outdoors, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Jill Tender, M.S.P.T.
Jill graduated from the University of Maryland in College Park as a kinesiology major in 1999. She then earned a Masters in Physical Therapy at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. Jill has been working in an outpatient orthopedic setting for the past three years. Jill lives in Rockville with her husband and sons and in her spare time, enjoys biking, running, and weight training.
Stacy King, M.S.P.T.
Stacy graduated from Marymount University with a Masters in Physical Therapy in 1999. She received her CIMT (Certified Integrated Manual Therapy) certification from Great Lakes Seminars in 2005 and her CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist) in 1999 from the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Stacy is also Polestar Pilates Certified for Rehabilitation. Stacy lives in Potomac with her husband, son and daughter.
Shari Cantor, M.S.P.T.
Shari graduated with a B.S. from Emory University in Atlanta , GA and received her Master’s degree from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. Shari has spent most of her career working in Boston, MA in outpatient orthopedics. In late 2006, Shari was happy to return to work in her hometown, Bethesda, with her husband shortly before starting her family. Shari likes to work with prenatal and post-partum women and very much enjoys helping her patients return to their desired level of activity. Shari loves any outdoor activity appropriate for the season!
Xiu Juan (Janet) Wu PT, DPT
Janet graduated from University of Maryland Baltimore County with a B.A. in Psychology in 2000. She earned a Masters degree in physical therapy from University of Maryland Baltimore School of Medicine in 2003 and her Doctoral degree in 2005. She enjoys working in an orthopedic outpatient setting and is developing her manual therapy skills for certification. During her free time, she loves spending time outdoors with her husband and son.
Wendie Green, P.T.A.
Wendie graduated from the Physical Therapist Assistant Program at Northern Virginia Community College in 1995. She has been practicing in rehabilitation and outpatient orthopedic settings since then.
Larisa Braginskaya, P.T. Aide
Larisa hails from the Ukraine and has been in the U.S. since 1997. She comes with a background of physical therapy, and is a vital part of our clinic.
Marilyn Worman, P.T. Aide
After her son was discharged from his treatment with Bethesda Physical Therapy, Marilyn stayed! As our newest PT aide, she brings a mix of compassion and energy to our clinic. Raised on the eastern shore, Marilyn has lived with her husband and children in Montgomery County since the 1980s.
Tatevik Mikaelyan, P.T. aide
Originally from Armenia, Tatevik widens the international flavor of Bethesda Physical Therapy. She graduated from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, with a B.S. in Biology and plans to go on to graduate school in the near future. She also has a minor degree in Dance, having danced ballet most of her life. Tatevik and her husband, who are newlyweds, live in Rockville.
Geetha Ooi, Office Manager
Geetha graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree and worked as a research officer in Malaysia. She has moved internationally on several postings with her husband’s job. Geetha can greet patients in 10 languages!
Michelle Scarlett, Front Desk Coordinator
Michelle graduated from the Jamaica Institute of Business Careers with a Certified Administrative Professional Certification. Experienced in the Service and Hospitality Industry, she brings Caribbean flair to her responsibilities of billing and the Front Desk.
